The Google WiFi is so good and serves the purpose of providing internet connectivity to users. But like every other WiFi provider, the Google WiFi also gets jammed with connection issues and other malfunctions. Such issues would usually require that you reset the WiFi to return it to its factory settings. We would be looking at ways you can reset your Google WiFi.

There are several reasons why you might want to reset your Google WiFi, some of the typical reasons you may want to reset your Google WiFi network include

How to Reset Your Google WiFi
When you are unable to connect to the internet, because your Google WiFi is not working as intended, resetting your Google WiFi may be your only option for a solution. Resetting your Google WiFi is usually the first solution for most people when they encounter any connection issues with their Google WiFi. We will be looking into the ways of resetting your Google WiFi.

Note that resetting your Google WiFi system will permanently remove all configurations, such as primary and secondary DNS settings, Google accounts, saved passwords and networks, security settings, etc. There are two main ways of resetting your Google WiFi system they include;

Hard Reset
Soft Reset
Hard Reset
Resetting your Google WiFi using the hard Reset option requires you to use the reset button on the Google WiFi router, with this you can reset the whole system or individual WiFi points. Resetting your Google WiFi device using the factory reset button method can be used on any Google WiFi device and network.

To Reset your Google Nest WiFi Router Using the Reset Button Follow These Steps:
Step 1: Locate the reset button on the bottom of the router and check for a circle etched into the bottom
Step 2: Press and hold down the factory reset button for 10 seconds. The light will flash yellow, then turn solid yellow, and release the button when the light is solid yellow.
Step 3:The reset process starts with the solid yellow light on, the process can take up to 10 minutes, during this process do not unplug the power cord.
Step 4: The router light pulses to white when the factory reset is completed.
Step 5: The WiFi router appears back on the Google Home app after the router has been reset. You can remove the router from the Google Home app by following the instructions for app factory reset in the user manual.

To Reset your Google Nest WiFi Point Using the Reset Button Follow These Steps
Step 1. Locate the factory reset button on the bottom of the WiFi point and check for a circle etched into the bottom.
Step 2. Press and hold the factory reset button on the WiFi point for about 5 seconds for the rest process of your WiFi device to begin.
Step 3. Continue to hold the button for about 10 seconds until you hear a sound confirming the device is resetting.
Step 4. To know that the reset process is complete the WiFi point appears back on the Google app after the WiFi point has been reset. You can remove the WiFi point from the Google app by following the instructions for app factory reset in the user manual.

To Reset your Google WiFi Point Using the Reset Button Follow These Steps
Step 1. Locate the factory reset button at the bottom of the WiFi point the button is in the form of a circle etched into either the bottom or back of the device.
Step 2. Press and hold the factory reset button for about 10 seconds. The light will flash orange, then turn solid blue. When the light is solid blue you can then release the button.
Step 3. At this point the WiFi point begins the reset process, which can take up to 10 minutes, during the reset process do not unplug the power cord.
Step 4. After the completion of the WiFi factory reset, the light on the WiFi point transitions from solid blue to pulsing blue indicating WiFi is ready for setup.
Step 5. After your WiFi point has been reset, it will show back up in Google Home or Google Wifi app. To remove the device and your previous network, follow the instructions for app factory reset.

Note that if your Google WiFi point firmware is an older version from 13729.57.27 then use these steps to reset:

Step 1. Unplug the WiFi point from the power source
Step 2. Press and hold the factory reset button on the device. While still holding the reset button down, plug-in back the power cable and continue pressing down the button for another 10 seconds.
Step 3. The WiFi point will flash white, then blue when the WiFi point device flashes the blue light, you can then release the reset button.
Step 4. The WiFi point will continue flashing blue for about 45 seconds before turning blue, this may take up to 10 minutes, after that your device is fully reset when the blue light turns pulse be which also means the WiFi point is ready for set up.
Step 5. After your WiFi point has been reset, it will still appear in the Google Home or Google Wifi app. To remove the device and your previous network, follow the instructions for app factory reset.

Note that after using the reset button to reset your Google WiFi, this is the result you will have if your reset was successful.
Your WiFi router or WiFi point(s) will return to the factory default settings. The reset will delete the information from the WiFi router or WiFi point(s), but will not delete your app or cloud stores files.

This method of resetting your Google WiFi is recommended to be used more often by Google. You have to use the Google Home app to reset the Google WiFi devices set up using the Google Home app. Also, you have to use the Google WiFi app to reset the Google WiFi devices set up using the Google WiFi app.

To Reset your Google WiFi Router and all points using the Google Home app Follow These Steps
Before resetting your WiFi device using the Google Home app know that such a reset will delete all settings and data from your Wifi router and point(s), Cloud services, and the Google Home app. It’ll also remove your router and Wifi point(s) from your Google Account. The steps to follow include:
Step 1. Open the Google Home app
Step 2. Tap Wi-Fi
Step 3. Select Settings
Step 4. Select Factory reset network
Step 5. Click Ok and the reset begins, it will take some minutes to complete.

To Reset your Google WiFi Router and all points Using the Google WiFi app Follow These Steps
Before resetting your WiFi device using the Google WiFi app know that such a reset will delete all settings and data from your Wifi router and point(s), Cloud services, and the Google WiFi app. It will also remove your router and Wifi point(s) from your Google Account, also you will need the Google Home app to set up your WiFi device again. The steps to follow include:

Step 1. Open the Google Wifi app
Step 2. Tap Network & general
Step 3. Select Wifi point(s)
Step 4. Select Factory Reset
Step 5. Select Factory Reset to confirm reset
Step 6. The Wifi point(s) will flash blue, then turn solid blue. This process may take up to 10 minutes.
Step 7. When reset is complete your Google WiFi app will show “Reset is complete,” and your Google Wifi point(s) will slowly pulse blue to indicate that the Google WiFi device is ready for setup.
