Samsung Electronics invested 15.2 billion won in AI, semiconductor research and development

According to Korean media reports, Samsung Electronics will invest a total of 15.2 billion won (approximately RMB 86 million) this year for project research and development in six emerging fields.

Samsung plans within the emerging field includes advanced artificial intelligence, next-generation encryption systems, 5G and network communications other than 6G, next-generation display technology and advanced semiconductor processes

According to reports, some research institutes have predicted that Samsung Electronics is expected to replace Intel again in the second quarter of this year and become the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturer.

In addition, Samsung Electronics is also seeking to expand its in-vehicle chip business and plans to use it as one of its future profit growth engines.
